Current Skincare Routine.

AM
I cleanse with Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel using a microfibre cloth in small circles to gently exfoliate as I find my makeup goes on smoother and is less prone to caking after I've done this. On my still damp face, I spritz on my Audra James Facial Mist which smells incredible. I follow this up with two pumps of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion and apply Dermalogica Total Eye Care around my eyes to moisturise and protect the delicate skin. After letting my moisturiser soak in for five or so minutes, I apply a sunscreen. My two favourites are Invisible Zinc Environmental Skin Protector and Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream. I prefer the Shiseido, especially for special occasions or days I know I may take photos of myself as it doesn't leave a ghostly cast or flash back as the Invisible Zinc is prone to do if care is not taken in the application.

PM
I start by washing off the day's makeup with Dermalogica Percleanse. I then cleanse my skin thoroughly with Audra James Skin Cleansing System. While this creamy cleanser is on my face, I give myself an improvised facial massage loosely based on the Tanaka method. I tone my face with Audra James Facial Mist, rub in a few drops of Audra James Skin Elixir as a serum. While my serum soaks in I apply the tiniest amount of Keihls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado (not pictured) around my eyes, then finish up by moisturising with Aesop Primrose Facial Hydrating cream.

Treatments
Once a week I slap on a clay-based facial mask to my lower cheeks, chin and neck to treat the acne. I switch between Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque and Audra James Clay Treatment Mask.

Edit: For a little background on my skin, I was happily oily-combination with my only major concern being my acne. I dabbled with the 'miracle' cult product Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and it turned my face into a flaky hot mess. I consulted some of their reps in their fancy white coats and they all assured me Microfoliant would be the cure not the cause of my dryness. I stopped using it anyway, turned to the fabulous Audra James for help, and my skin is slowly but surely going back to its oily-combination ways. I still experience slight dryness in patches on my chin and cheeks (right where my acne is... boo) but I'm putting that down to not being a teenager any more.

  2. Why must skin be so complicated!??
I combo skin that tends to get very dry and flaky, and I still have a lot of problems with acne. I hate acne. I wish I could banish it to some other dimension!
