Current Skincare Routine.

Those with multiple skincare concerns will get my jive when I say it is ridiculously hard to find a routine that works harmoniously to treat all skin issues.

If you're dry in one spot, it normally means you have to do without the cleanser with works for your oily area. Got acne? Well, good luck finding a moisturiser to suit sensitive skin or help slow the ageing process.

Well, sucks to be me. I've got hormonal acne on my chin and neck, dry and sensitive skin on my cheeks and forehead, and an oil-slick for a t-zone. I also have dreams of being mistaken for 45 at my 60th birthday. Woe.

My skin is my biggest insecurity, I invest a lot of time, money and effort into it. Some may see my routine as excessive and lavish (warning: lots of Mario Badescu ahead), but I'm a skincare junkie.

AM
No cleanser, just a splash of water to remove previous night's products.
A spritz of an uplifting toner, at the moment it's Audra James Rose Geranium Facial Spray.
Moisturise with Mario Badescu The Moisture Magnet SPF 15.
Dermalogica Total Eye Care SPF 15 as eye cream.

At night I work on a four-day rotation, which is extremely complicated but it works for my skin.

PM 1
Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser with Clarisonic Mia.
Steamcream.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion dabbed onto nasty erupted acne.

PM 2
Dermalogica Precleanse, not my favourite makeup remover just trying to use it up.
A gentle cleanser such as Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Soap.
Tone with Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Lotion.
Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion followed by Mario Badescu Drying Mask on problem areas, Steamcream on the rest.

PM 3
Dermalogica Precleanse.
Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Soap.
Alpha-H Liquid Gold Glycolic swept all over with cotton pad.

PM 4

Dermalogica Precleanse.
Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Soap.
Alpha-H Liquid Gold Serum.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion on spots.

Treatments
Once a week I pamper myself with a mask. I've been loving Mario Badescu Super Collagen Mask.

I'm on the hunt for a good eye cream for night. What do you use?

  4. Wow! What a routine. But you know what I don't think its excessive because we all have to do what works for us.. and it is so rare anyone finds that perfect system. What do you think of your clarisonic? I have been meaning to take the plunge but.. I don't know if it is worth the investment.
I would give you my recommendation on eye cream but I don't use any :( I know I'm bad I need to get on that!

  6. That is one incredible skin care routine! I wish I had the faintest clue about skin care :( I'd love to try products and see what really works for me, but I don't know where to start. It must've taken quite a bit of trial and error to get to your current set up, but I'm sure the results speak for themselves.
